Do You Assume A Pose?

The only place I act like a different person is at Woodstock. In middle school I was off the walls with ADHD and never went on class trips because I was suspended at one point during the year. But when I graduated and went to Woodstock, I knew it was a different game. I knew that very few upperclassmen tolerated freshman, and with my luck I was placed in the classes just chalk-full of sophomores and juniors. Adapting to my enviroment, I quickly learned to keep my mouth shut as not to anger everyone around me. However, I still managed to somehow call one of the school's cheerleaders fat in the first two weeks of school. This left a great impression on all of the upperclassmen, including her boyfriend. A poor decision, I'll admit.

With all of my luck, I was continuously placed in classes with no friends from Canterbury but plenty of juniors and seniors, few of which I befriended. My fake-quiet personality gradually turned into a habit, which makes me look like a coke-addict who sits in the back of class looking like a creeper. As soon as I get home, however, there's no shutting me up. I am an abrasive monster who can't get enough of making fun of people any where, at any time. Making fun of people comes easily and I often lean on it in converstaion.

  1. I know what you mean. Everything kind of changed when we got to highschool and i felt like we couldn't be ourselves. People seemed a lot more hostile, but things are becomming easier now that were getting to be upperclassmen ourselves.

  2. I would have to agree with this. When I was in middle school I was more shy then I am now. I've also changed so much since then and i feel more open to people. I also agree with Timebomb when they said everything kinda changes when you come to highschool.

  3. This was very interesting. The fact that you were commonly placed in different classes can cause a lot of stress. Since you didn't have anyone you knew very well in your classes it would have made it very hard to even speak for some attention. Definately when you don't have friends in your classes it could make meeting new people a big challenge, that is always the worst situation you could ask for in highschool.
